Electrical and computer engineering students addressed real world problems with their novel project designs during this semester’s Fall Capstone Design Expo. “Big Hero 6” team tied for Best Overall Project and “FRMBX” won Best ECE Team. The city of Irvine is hosting its first-ever car-free open streets event, CicloIrvine, from 11 a.m. Side projects include teaching, speaking and writing about medievalism, and running to/from donut shops. The University of California Master Gardener Program extends to the public research-based information about home horticulture and pest management. Master Gardeners are selected and trained by UCCE to volunteer in the community, educating home gardeners on tested gardening methods. The UCCE San Diego County Master Gardener Program was formed in 1983 and has over 350 active volunteers who donate thousands of volunteer hours to the community each year.
